To My Son Tre'

This is a poem to my son Tre'

Who thirsts for knowledge every day

A sensitive and loving child

Whose look of love can make you smile

Taken from your mother

You dad makes you accept another

Teaches hate and anger, too

Tearful, I try reaching you

I let you down, son

When you were counting on me to be the one

To help you escape the loveless

Existence you hate because

I was too weak

To continue the fight

When I was dragged down

Parents who hate alwyas hurt their kids

When allowing the fights to go on

They must learn to let go for the 

Sake of the children created in love

So they will never think they were the cause

Forgive my selfish fear of failure

As I work to bring you home to me

My son, my love, My Tre'

Stay With Me!!!

Oh love, don’t ever leave me

I want you with me now;

I think of you constantly

That’s more than life allows

My love for you is stronger

Than the strongest man alive;

I can’t hold out much longer

I need you by my side

Keep me with you forever

Please let me be your wife;

Unhappiness will never–

When we met you were kind,

Handsome, and

Clever

We thought we could make a life together

With time came trust

The day that I became your wife

Life was such a joyous thing

Soon you began to lie,

I didn’t know, ‘til that fateful day

SECOND TIME AROUND

There once was a woman who was an abused wife

Who decided it was time to make some changes in her life

So she went & saw a lawyer to learn about her rights

He said that she should leave him, and then quoted her, his price

The price for freedom would be high she learned that day

But if she wanted peace of mind, it was a price she’d have to pay

So then one night she decided to go skating for a while

And there she met a young man who knew how to make her smile

They talked, they skated, and then they talked some more

He was such a gentleman, he walked her to the door

They saw each other more & more, their feelings grew & grew

But he was much too young for her, that much she even knew

She had three kids & bills to pay, he was just getting started

The age difference bothered her, but she ached even more, each time they  parted

He was gentle, kind, & good, and wise beyond his years

The thought of them going their separate ways, brought both of them to tears

Family and friends all thought they were crazy: Her husband threw a rage

They searched their hearts & then decided “To Hell with this difference in age”

She got her divorce and they were married, her kids all love him so

Everyone’s happier and there’s so much more laughter than there was a year ago

So now he’s a Daddy to three little girls & has lots of bills to pay

But when she asked him if he regrets what he did, he says “I’ll have it no other way”

So here’s a couple who broke all the rules of society’s standards of right

But instead of problems & sorrows & pain, they Thank God for their love every night

Respect

Respect is a word

We hear it a lot

Some men earn it

Others do Not!

The STRANGER

 

I had a car that ran so well

A family full of smiles

Everything was going fine

‘Til you flew across the miles

Then the nightmares all began

Kids crying in the night

School grades dropping rapidly

There’s nothing going right

Finally you called and gave us strength

To get through all the days

A card for each of us helped, too

But then you changed your ways

No more calls, no letters at all

It’s like you disappeared

My fears began, that you’re a stranger

I envision you with a beard

Tears have begun to stain my pillow

There are lots of sleepless nights

The kids don’t understand

And every day they’re into fights

Your family misses you, oh, so much

We need to hear from you

I’m so sad, so very lonely

Please tell me what to do

Every day a letter goes out

Are they getting through?

My dear, I Love and Miss You

I’d like to hear the same from you

Each day I run to check the mail

Hoping there’s something there

But every time, it’s just the same

Darling, don’t you care?

I Need Your Love

Hold me tight

Don’t let go

I need you now

  Love don’t say “No”

I’m so afraid

And worried too

I’m frightened now

Of losing you

I’ve lost so much

Don’t go away

I need your love

Each night and day

NO ONE ELSE!

  

You think you stole me from my man

You’re wrong, it isn’t true

The love I’d felt for him was gone

Before I fell for you

So now, you see, your fears are wrong

Another man can’t take me

If you should want me to leave your side

You’ll surely have to make me

My love for you is so much stronger

Than I ever felt before

Sure, I loved him years & years ago

But still, I love you more

Your jealousy is crazy

Your questionings absurd

I’d like to stop your worries

But I just can’t find the words

If you want me, I’ll be yours

For all eternity

If you think I’ll love another

I’ll forgive your insanity

I’ll admit that I’m not perfect

That I’m sure you know

But to think I’d want another man

All I say is “No!”

I strive to make you a happy man

I will do anything

On the day that we were joined as one

I said it with a ring

So next time you think I want someone else

Just stop & think of this…

You’re the only man I’ll ever want

Let’s seal it with a kiss.

A WISH GRANTED

Once upon a falling star

A wish was made by me

To have your love forever

And for all eternity

God heard my wish and nodded

And made a deal with me

If I would help make others smile

He’d grant my wish, you see

So now you’re mine forever

Yes God has promised this

And in our vows, we said the same

And sealed it with a kiss

 

Although at times we won’t agree

Yes, sometimes we will fight

We’ll work things out and patch them up

If we keep God’s love in sight

So if I seem on edge at times

If I try to pick a fight

Let’s say the Devil made me do it

And then just hold me tight 

     Forgiving and forgetting      

Are the only tools required

To build a happy, loving home

And to have all things desired

BE GENTLE

Please be gentle with my heart

Just like you are with me

Already I miss you when we’re apart

And it’s you I want to see

Reassurance is something I need

I’ve been hurt before

Honesty and kindness is the seed

To make my love grow more

I wasn’t looking when we met

For anyone for love

But since it’s found, you can bet

I thank the stars above

Some day soon we can be sure

If we were meant to be

I do believe your love is pure

The same is true for me

So if you love me like you say

And hope we never part

TRUE LOVE

 There are lots of lovers in this old World

Some love a lot stronger than others

Like a glorious flag that’s been unfurled

My love for you waves above others

A mother loves her newborn baby

With a willingness to sacrifice all

She may always want to be a lady

But for her child she will take a fall

Kids love their kindergarten teachers

With such undying admiration

Sometimes a friend and sometimes a preacher

She’s busy molding a new nation

Sometimes people feel such an unreal love

Convincing themselves it’s the real thing

Believing it comes from God above

But loneliness won’t fade with a ring

Lucky for me my true love has been found

Deep in his heart I know he loves me

Because of this love my desires abound

And I know it was all meant to 

Someday we’ll be together forever

And all the rest of the world will see

And darling, our love will always be 

True love can conquer any endeavor
